Description
White embroidered headcloth with a large bouquet, large eyelets and pink fillings. From the lower corner rises a double tendril that frames the embroidery at the top. Along the edge are eyelet scallops filled with spirals and spider-web fillings.
Women carried it in the hand, gathered into a point with the embroidery facing outward, with prayer books placed on it. Embroidering the headcloth, without the linen, reportedly cost 25 guilders.
The embroidery resembles work from the Plasy region. M. Lábková: northwest of Hostouň, south of Stráž and Bor near Bernartice. Purchased on 13 January 1917 from Marie Dudová, a dealer from Holýšov.
